A lot of people said that it was hard to tell the Fitz twins apart, but Madeleine didn’t think so. She didn’t know how—maybe it was just because she had worked with Jake in class a couple of times—but she knew right away that this one was Jace. She didn’t know him that well, but he was in Aquila so that meant he was probably very clever and fun. Most Aquilas were like that
“For Animagus!” she called back. But then Madeleine decided that maybe that was not enough information for Jace so she added, “Aaron-Dad says meditating helps with the process! So I want to get a head start!” It wasn’t as hard to talk with the mandrake leaf in her mouth as she’d expected: it was just like when you were chewing gum. Madeleine didn’t chew gum much because it made her mouth tired, and also because she was worried about swallowing it because then it stayed in your stomach for seven years and seven days, but Drooble’s had the best gum (it made blue crazyberry-flavored bubbles) so sometimes she made an exception for it.
Maybe she and Jace could do Animagus together! Madeleine wasn’t sure about how Professor Rob would feel about giving Jace some potion too, but since Jace was one of his Aquilas it would probably be okay. Professor Rob had a “the more the merrier” attitude toward making potions for fun.
That was, if Jace was interested. “Are you gonna take the Animagus class?”
