With purple and white stripes, the toque was obvious against the green grass of the Outdoor Classroom where it had found itself after some time stashed in the Secret Passageways, with its only company being an eccentric house-elf and other hats. It had fond memories of snow, ice, and a moose or two, or three. Actually, it remembered a lot of moose, but it couldn’t remember exactly why, eh. Regardless, there was no snow or ice here - just green grass and a slight, mildly chill wind.
Unbeknownst to the hat, some wayward magic had slipped into it in the time it had spent tucked away in the Secret Passageways with all the other hats in the house-elf’s collection. Anyone who came within a few feet of it would be compelled to pick it up and put it on. Worse, it was now a semi-sapient Thinking Cap and would help grease the wheels in the wearer’s mind, bringing to light as many ideas as they might possibly come up with and compelling them to share them out loud. Fortunately, although this hat had far too many thoughts about moose, geese, and other such animals it was also a very friendly hat, eh, and wouldn’t intentionally push its memories on its new owner. Unfortunately, it would probably happen anyway.
