Wynonna Wakefield stared down at her wand, its rather bland, dusty-old-brown-coat color causing her nose to wrinkle up a little. She'd been so excited to get a wand--Wyn wanted a pretty maple or maybe even a red oak!
But no. Sycamore.
Not that she was...disappointed. Of course not! It just...didn't feel as special as she'd hoped. And the core certainly hadn't been one she'd ever heard of before: Jackalope antler. She'd heard of plenty of other wand cores (including European ones), but "Jackalope antler" was definitely unfamiliar.
Professor McKindy seemed alright though, so Wyn couldn't see any reason to try to weasel her way out of the first class (also, she really didn't have anything else to be doing, so this was better than boredom, the blonde figured).
Turning to the student to her left, Wyn stuck out her hand abruptly, and plastered a friendly smile on her face. She could practically hear her mother telling her to "be polite" and "mind your own business". "I'm Wynonna Wakefield," she greeted them, her southern cadence filling out the air. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
Wynonna had to remind herself to not be so forward and start poking and prodding at the student's life. She was here to take classes (and if she was lucky) make a friend or two. Not that she would just jump on the chance to make a friend out of every person she met but...
Still. It was polite to introduce herself, and if she hadn't done so properly, her mama would'a had her head.
