Kristen loves a bit of flash with whatever she does. Whether it’s her touring Renaissance show with one of her partners, her role as a mother, or someone’s dueling stance, she fully believes everything can be improved. There’s no such thing as perfection, just constant striving to be close to perfection. Her daughter is the most important part of her life, but that doesn’t mean she wants to only be a mom. She constantly has projects up her sleeves. She enjoys nights out with other performers and tries to make friends wherever she goes. However, she does not compromise herself in order to make friends. She loves a challenge and is a sore loser.
Kristen doesn’t remember her natural hair color. It changes on a whim or sometimes for a gig. When she arrived at Rocky Mountain International, she had red and orange hair with purple roots, but who knows how long that will last? She has a slim and muscular build, thanks to acrobatics and flexibility work, and she enjoys striking fashion that borders between whimsical and intimidating. Her eyes are blue, and her slightly pale skin is adorned with freckles due to all the time she spends outdoors for her touring shows.
Kristen comes from a long line of Renaissance Festival performers across the United States. Her parents toured in a pirate band, and her grandparents started one of the largest faerie courts along the East Coast. What they all had in common was using their magic to become headliners at Renaissance Festivals across the world. They never did enough to be found out as actual witches and wizards; Muggles simply called them incredible magicians, performers, illusionists, whatever they could come up with to explain the impossible feats they saw.
Kristen, due to her traveling performer life, spent her childhood years homeschooled, She did choose to go to college, though, and she balanced her studies with Renaissance seasons. Her summers were full of travel, and within four years she had her teaching certification for Charms, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Fire Eating.
Approaching her forties was a wakeup call, and when she got the request to apply for an open position at Rocky Mountain International, Kristen knew it was the right thing to do. She could teach and on the weekends, continue her work with her partners in the group Fantastic Phoenixes. She had one condition for accepting the job: RMI would admit her eleven year old daughter, Summer Brooks, despite the school year already starting.
